Bambu®, the homeware line known for their beautiful, innovative and environmentally friendly products, is proud to announce its nomination among the 2017 finalists in the 2017 Houseware Design Award. The brand’s Reclaimed Cedar Wood Serving Collection has been selected in the Table, Serveware & Beverageware category, standing alongside other notable brands such as Alessi, Frieling and Oxo. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at The Las Vegas Market in Las Vegas, NV.
The five product finalists in each of twelve core awards categories were selected from more than 250 entries by an independent panel of design and merchandising experts. They convened in Las Vegas in mid-November for two days of hands-on product review and testing. Award criteria included appropriate aesthetics, innovative materials and technology, user benefits and marketability. Finalists and winners will be recognized on January 24 for developing unique and differentiated products that reflect an overall commitment to innovation and design excellence. Bambu was a previous winner of the 2008 Housewares Design Awards.
“The mission of this competition is perfectly aligned with ours,” said Jeffrey Delkin, President and Co-Founder of Bambu. “We are all about design first, followed by simplicity and functionality in order to use good design to promote a more sustainable living. We find inspiration in the daily use of objects, but feel it is not enough to be eco-friendly. It has to have an aesthetic quality too.”
Blending function and elegance, the Bambu collections are a breath of fresh air for the home. Products are made from renewable materials like bamboo, cork, cedar, coconut, hemp, organic cotton and soy. A value-driven company that sources materials locally, the Bambu motto is that passion follows you when you work hard and strive to make a positive difference.
