We came across a couple of great gardening tips we found really useful, and easy. It's about staying clean, and keeping your veggies clean.
Keep Your Nails Clean While Gardening
Not everyone likes the feeling of doing manual labor while sporting a pair of gloves. As far as gardening goes, wearing gloves doesn't necessarily mean your hands and nails won’t be dirty at the end of the day. If you are looking to prevent the charming appearance of soil-stains beneath your nails—not to mention the intense scrubbing that follows—check out this simple tip!
Before you set outside grab a bar of soap, wet it, and drag your nails across its surface, claw-style. The soapy buildup will protect the area under the nail bed from a soily invasion. Once you are done mucking about in the dirt you’ll find that washing up is a breeze!
Remove Toxins and Pesticides From Fruit and Veggies
Less about your own homegrown veggies, but a good tip nonetheless. We follow this method when we're in China, or unsure of the source or quality of our veggies. We soak them in a 1:4 ratio of vinegar and water to help remove toxins and pesticides. We soak for about 3o minutes or so. Longer with nonorganic apples. At the end of the bath, sometimes you can even see cloudy like stuff in the water from the skins and waxes, and dirt on the bottom. And No it doesn't change the taste.
